Mastermind Program

The purpose of the Mastermind Group is to establish a vibrant and cooperative community consisting of enthusiastic educators and educational leaders who are dedicated to personal and professional development, as well as the progress of educational methods. By exchanging knowledge, sharing experiences, and providing support, the group strives to bring about constructive transformations in the field of education.

Mission of the Mastermind Group

The mission of the 1MT Mastermind Group is to create a dynamic and collaborative community of passionate educators and educational leaders committed to growth and the advancement of educational practices. Through shared knowledge, experiences, and support, the group aims to drive positive change within the educational sector.

By participating in the Mastermind Group, members will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, receive feedback, and gain insights from peers and leaders who understand their goals and challenges.

Eligibility Criteria for Joining the Group

  • Applicants should have a foundational understanding of the challenges and realities of the education profession.

  • They MUST be Blackbelts and HP Mentors. (On rare occasions, this may be waved, but only to give them some time to meet these requirements)

    Prospective members should demonstrate a strong commitment to their own professional growth and development as educators. This can be evidenced by their participation in relevant training programs, workshops, conferences, or other professional learning opportunities.

  • Applicants should showcase a clear alignment with the goals, mission, and values of both the Mastermind Group and 1 Million Teachers organization.

  • Potential members should express a genuine interest in actively participating in the group, contributing to discussions, sharing their expertise and experiences, and supporting the growth of fellow educators.

Meet the Team Leaders

  • Program Director

    Kemi Ogunsanya is an award-winning Educator with over 9 years of teaching experience. Her experience spans across public and private schools at primary and secondary levels where she has taught subjects like Reading, Spelling, English Grammar, Creative Writing, Literature-in-English, and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

  • Chair

    Dr. Lorraine Otoide is an experienced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) educator and researcher with a Ph.D. in Science Education. She has taught at various education levels and currently works as an Adjunct Professor at York University and is a Policy Education Officer in International Education for the Ontario Ministry of Education. Dr. Otoide has a wealth of experience in K-12 education, having served as a primary/junior/intermediate classroom teacher and instructional Technology Resource Coach, and is currently Coordinator for the UNESCO Associated Schools Network in Ontario.
