HP and 1MT are united in a shared vision to enhance global access to quality education through technology. Our goals include expanding educational access, empowering teachers, promoting digital literacy, fostering sustainability, engaging communities, and making a global impact. Since 2021, HP has supported 1MT's mission by providing innovative, technology-based professional development programs for educators in the most under-resourced communities. Together, we've accelerated digital equity for nearly 2.1 million students and teachers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

1MT has partnered with Queen’s University Faculty of Education to leverage their expertise in teacher education and program development. Since 2018, Queen’s Faculty of Education has been a dedicated supporter and collaborator, contributing its extensive experience and research capabilities to enhance 1MT’s initiatives. This partnership is driven by Queen’s commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to expanding global opportunities for its teacher candidates.

The collaboration has evolved from the initial program framework and content development to encompass a broad range of activities. These include international practicums for teacher candidates, workshops, school visits, research projects, and advocacy efforts. Through these initiatives, Queen’s Faculty of Education plays a pivotal role in shaping and supporting 1MT’s mission to train and empower teachers.

Girl Rising, a global campaign for girls’ education and empowerment, utilizes powerful storytelling through mediums like feature films to reshape perceptions and advocate for girls' education worldwide. By integrating girls’ education into mainstream dialogue and inspiring action, Girl Rising aims to dismantle longstanding barriers hindering girls from realizing their aspirations.

In collaboration with HP and Girl Rising, 1MT spearheads initiatives like the Girl Rising: Gender Responsive Education program, which equips educators with the tools to deliver high-quality, gender-responsive education. Additionally, the HP Mentor a Teacher Program (HPMAT) focuses on gender equity, digital inclusion, leadership, and fostering a success mindset, providing participants with mentorship from HP employees. Other joint endeavors include the Parental Engagement course, empowering parents to support their children’s educational journeys, and advocacy initiatives like Munataro and Rewrite the Future. Through exhibitions and events, these collaborations highlight the transformative impact of education, particularly when facilitated by empowered educators, on the lives of children, especially girls.

NABU utilizes technology to digitally publish children's books in local languages, addressing the global scarcity of early-grade literature. This initiative targets the reduction of illiteracy rates among school dropouts, mitigating their vulnerability to social and economic exploitation. By fostering literacy, especially in marginalized regions, NABU aims to unlock opportunities and combat poverty. NABU and 1MT collaborate on various initiatives, including training Literacy Champions, enhancing access to literacy tools for educators, and mutual capacity-building efforts to tackle evolving literacy challenges.

The SEED Teachers-in-Training Fellowship (STiTF) program, in collaboration with 1 Million Teachers (1MT), endeavors to cultivate proficient and impassioned educators-in-training to combat education poverty and inequality in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Nigeria. This initiative responds to the pressing demand for an additional 15 million teachers in the region by 2030 to attain universal primary and secondary education, a critical necessity amid Nigeria's deepening education crisis.
